Sunita Agarwal, an Indian optometrist and vision therapist, has been at the forefront of pediatric vision care, revolutionizing the field with her pioneering work. A graduate and post-graduate in clinical optometry, Sunita’s journey is marked by a deep commitment to improving the vision health of children in India.

Her career began in pediatrics at her clinic, Drishtikone, where she now focuses on philanthropic endeavors. Recognizing the crucial role of behavioral and vision therapy in pediatric care, she pursued certification in optometric vision therapy from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD), USA, becoming the sole certified optometric vision therapist in India recognized by COVD.

Sunita later joined the child development center at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata, where she became an integral part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to treating children with developmental disorders and disabilities. Her contributions led to the establishment of the Nabajatak Child Development Centre in Kolkata, further expanding her impact in pediatric vision care.

With a keen interest in autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Sunita obtained certification in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) from the UK, making her one of the very few certified individuals in India. Currently, she heads the Vision Therapy department at Aster Women and Child Hospital in Bangalore.

Apart from her clinical work, Sunita is also an entrepreneur. She is an official distributor of Bernell Inc., USA, making vision therapy products more accessible to eye care professionals in India. Under the banner of Fusion VTP, she also manufactures high-quality and affordable vision therapy products.

Academically, Sunita is a PhD scholar conducting research in the field of Vision Therapy. She has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences, earning accolades for her contributions to the field.

Currently, Sunita holds several key positions, including Consultant Optometrist and Vision Therapist at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital CDC, Kolkata, and Consultant Optometrist and HOD Vision Therapy at Aster Women and Child Hospital, Bangalore. She is also the Founder and Proprietor of Drishtikone Vision Therapy and Neuro Vision Therapy Clinic in Howrah, and the Founder and Professional Associate of Nabajatak Child Developmental Centre in Kolkata.

Sunita’s dedication to advancing pediatric vision care in India is evident in her numerous international and national presentations, where she has shared her research and findings. Her areas of interest include Behavioral and Developmental Optometry, Vision Therapy, Neuro Vision Rehabilitation, Low Vision, and General Clinical Optometry.

Through her relentless pursuit of excellence in pediatric vision care, Sunita Agarwal continues to make significant contributions to the field, improving the lives of children across India.
